This could 100% be done in software -- it's already adjusting the wheel speed a thousand times a second, it would be trivial to add some haptic oscillation.

This is absolutely the case. When Onewheels were new they were mostly ridden by people who came from other boardsports. They knew the danger and treated them with the due respect, including taking the time to learn how to properly operate

That caught my eye as well. If I wanted to buy some agricultural land in my state and convert it to industrial manufacturing, I would be mired in red tape for years .

Apparently it works with Find My as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they started rolling out premium features that take more bandwidth once everybody's free two years expires.

Job skill is relative. I'm sure everyone's job would be considered "low skill" to some people.

And I returned mine after learning that all the press about it not requiring a Facebook account wasn't actually accurate until today. Kind of a coincidence that the price went up $100 right before this went through.

Or putting the power button back on the top. Or going back to the iPhone 5's round volume buttons. Both the placement and shape of the buttons leads to accidental presses and the inability to easily identify them by feel. Almost anyt

I do kind of wonder how much the new repair-friendly Apple has to do with the fact that they lose basically the entire laptop's margin every time they have to replace a battery under warranty.

MIL-SPEC just means it conforms to a spec. Whether that means "rugged" or just "standardized" really depends on why and when the spec was written. I've managed production of a number of "MIL-SPEC" parts o

I think real justice would include an absolutely enormous fine to the company for tying up 20 years of court resources over a case they were clearly wrong about. The plaintiff may not have incurred any legal costs, but the railway certainly

I like to bring this up whenever FlightRadar24 is mentioned. They heavily censor their feed. Not only for military aircraft, but they also have a service where you can pay to have your aircraft hidden by the system. Personally my beef with

> I only get notifications on my watch This worked really well for me. My phone is always silent/DND, but I get notifications on my watch. If I want to stop getting notifications, I just take off my watch.

I've uninstalled a number of apps for doing that. Once they start mixing spam with relevant notifications -- especially if it's an app that depends on relevant notifications -- I'm out.

Your description of that deal doesn't really add up. If you're putting down $300 and paying $33/month, that's just buying a phone.

Micron Computers had a fantastic website, with a no-frills configurator that let you customize nearly every component. They also offered solid upgrades to sound and video cards, and even Trinitron monitors. They were like an unpretentious

It's based on news articles, so I've found it helpful in the final stages to switch from guessing words with similar meanings to guessing words you might see together in a headline. For example if you've got "rescued&q

I'm not sure why people keep asking about this -- it was a transparently desperate ploy by the defendant to portray themselves as victims, and it didn't work.

I think those are all good ideas. Minimalist design trends have nothing to do with generational taste, and everything to do with practicality. As technology became more ubiquitous we had to design for less technically-literate people, peri

If that qualifies as top 1% and Vimeo is hitting people up for $3000+/year, they must be in utterly dire financial straits. Which is really sad, as they've generally been the only nominally-competitive youtube alternative.
