You can’t keep saying things like “AGI achieved internally” without someone eventually asking for receipts.

Pretty much my only issue with CarPlay is that I can’t seem to set the map so that north is up. It turns everything into “third right ahead” instead of “this is just 2 blocks east of that coffee shop I was at last week”.

Living in Vancouver ruins a lot of tv shows. Chicago? Nope, Vancouver. New York? Nope, Vancouver. SF? Nope, Vancouver! On the flip side, they use a lot of local place names and things, so it’s like a little in-joke when you notice them.

I only have a fairly basic understanding of encodings, but is this one by any chance in one of the smaller “standard” character sets and not in the huge Unicode “emoji” set?

I bet you’d use lightyears over petametres or exametres though.

Aren’t you just remembering specific numbers though? Unless you’re trying to boil water unseen so that you can only see a thermometer, the specific 100°C mark isn't that useful.

I actually came around to Fahrenheit for the exact same reason. 0°F and 100°F are kind of the top and bottom of the temperature range I’m going to be experiencing and anything outside that is waaay too hot or cold. In Celsius a large portio

If it was as simple as that we would have far fewer programming languages even for humans today.

Haha, queue a big argument over what “better” means for programming languages.

I think people can imagine lighter cars and laptops and things. Is there something bizarre that’s unlocked like battery powered space launches or something?

In England they still use imperial for some things, like miles, mph and mpg for cars, pints for drinks etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if shooting still used yards as well.

The wealth of the ultra rich isn’t sitting in a checking account or a Robinhood trading account. There’s a lot of it in stuff that’s lying around and most likely it’s not even all in the country. Wealth isn’t sitting in a global database th

I’d like to think it was actually some kind of neutral, non-harmful clay, but I guess the problem with clay is it can be made of whatever is in rocks, which is basically anything.

The lift to make your own website is so low now, and the benefits of future-proofing are so great that it's just the right decision to make. You don’t even have to drive all your readers there, you’ll just have it available for everyon

Exactly. I think income tax was 1% when they introduced it and it impacted the top 1% to 2% of earners. Now look how much they’re taking from the rest of us.

No, I know exactly how the mechanism works. Right now if you get a dividend and reinvest in the stock, you pay income taxes, then you pay capital gains on the stock you buy with those dividends, albeit at a higher cost basis. Both buybacks

I don’t agree with wealth taxes. The ultra wealthy will find the ways to avoid them and it will end up disproportionately landing on the middle class like everything else. If it has to be done, it should be at the sources of the wealth so t

That’s digital though, so it requires the continued survival of readers for the data that is stored. The best thing you could for the long term is probably to buy a few hundred physical books to keep in a bookcase in your home.

Italy is also famous for deli meats. I’m going to hazard a guess that not every Italian is buying raw meat and then preparing traditional dishes from scratch with it using only the freshest of natural ingredients etc.

Implementation is everything. If there’s enough capacity to drive up and drop your car off without queueing, and your car is ready to go as you leave the terminal then it sounds great. If there’s a half hour wait to get into the drop off zo
