This is such a complicated issue. I wish we had a better understanding of what's happening here than a simple Right vs Left argument. Putting America on the gold standard will fundamentally change how the world economy operates. The do

One expects the academic community to step in and provide this kind of analysis, namely that an LLM combined with a great deal of computing capacity exhibits capabilities greater than the sum of its parts.

The biggest challenge facing CBDCs (Central Bank control of Digital Currencies) is that any laws or regulations concerning them can be changed at anytime, without the consent of the governed. See Credit Suisse.

Agreed. GPT isn't recycling, regurgitating, or anything like that. It's more like remixing, which is pretty fascinating. It's like having an opinionated DJ that plays whatever you ask-ish. But, if you ask for something too ed

As a "minority" I completely agree with you. IMO, the White Knights target the "others" for an opportunity to virtue signal. It got old after the first time it happened.

Don’t listen to anyone telling you that cold calling doesn’t work. It works! You want to get a step-by-step book that you can relate to. I had to read five or six of them before I found one that really spoke to me. It was an uphill battle.

The solution for Google is to filter generated content, period. That will lead to an arms race of sorts, similar to the SEO keyword arms race. The SEO arms race resulted in keyword relevant, but unoriginal minimally useful content. The prob

The impact of your decision will grow with time. Always getting better. The upside is immense. The downside is that very few people will understand or share your experience.

I suspect the training was overfit to certain kinds of music. A bot that's fine tuned with "funk", "70's funk", and other similar music will produce better results.

Trying to imagine what the song "Internal Server Error" sounds like because when I typed that into Spotify it just repeated the same back to me. Then my screen bulged out with a screaming face. Then went back to normal. Weird.

Exactly. I will be surprised if even GPT-3 (with training data), not to mention GPT-4-5-6 or 7, is made available to the masses. There's too much potential for disruption. Also, I'd love to be surprised.

Cyphers, the algorithms used to encrypt the secret file, become obsolete over time. We still need to solve for obsolescence. You can encrypt a file today using a cypher that will eventually be removed from all browsers, desktops, and phones

Drowning in information... Starving for wisdom... No matter what we come up with, we still have to seek wisdom from the wise. The internet (AI powered or not) will never be wise. This gives me hope for humanity, and makes me love God more.

Before the real internet came and killed the forums, the weird bearded guy would lurk on the forums. He's the guy who makes you answer general questions like, "Why would you want to do that?" "What's this for?"

The redpill in me says MSFT created dotnet to kill VB6. That tool made it too easy (and cheap) to create value through automation.

Half the fun of having a bartender is to influence the alcohol content of your drinks. If the bartender has no influence on the drink the bartender/customer relationship is weak.
