Also, sadly, Sandstorm is not built for federated/decentralized apps that want to connect to arbitrary other servers.

If "y" isn't a thing, then "is x really y" has been answered. Gluten is not the only thing wheat is made of. The research suggests, but it has not been confirmed, that FODMAPs may be the thing that many people diagn

It seems that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lzip came out at the time between lzma and xz, possibly because lzma lacked proper file headers and checksumming at the time. These days, some distros use lz and most use xz,

There is an AOT compiler from source to bytecode, and then there is a bytecode interpreter. Wingo is considering the possibility of having a bytecode-to-native JIT or a source-to-native compiler.

The lack of understanding of this comic has done more damage. Every person suggesting a new specification should have at least some idea of why people using the existing specifications would be interested in migrating, and how. I think Acti

An announced successor is still xkcd/927 until it actually replaces all use of the predecessors. Case in point: pump.io is the successor of OStatus and StatusNet.

Others have pointed out that OStatus isn't built on XMPP, but maybe the source of your confusion is this: OpenMicroBlogging, predecessor of OStatus and the original protocol of laconi.ca/StatusNet/GNU Social, was built on XMP

Nobody is questioning that ASL2, MIT, BSD, Expat etc are free software licenses. The thesis is that they are not always as good as e.g. the GPLv3 at spreading lasting user freedom.

RMS advocates such a law. In the meantime, to increase the amount of software that does come with source, he decided to replace critical proprietary software with free software that requires any derivative to come with source. Decades later
