In this context (driving in central Europe) I've found Apple Maps to choose the conventional route more often. The trip may be slightly longer but more enjoyable, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Google Maps indeed seems to be weig

Interesting, thanks for the clarification. I've been searching for a low-friction way to get original photo files from iOS to Linux. USB has been really unstable and P2P sharing through Safari does not provide uncompressed originals (i

Wow, good point. I just expected it to support a stylus and was really hyped about buying one. Without a stylus, I don't think Linux on a tablet is really viable.

I am using it on Linux (GNOME 44 under Fedora 38), where it is natively supported. I don't know about Windows specifically but I was under the impression that it is pretty well-known.

Thanks! It does indeed look better than the prevalent "US intl", which places Ö on the P key in favor of accented O. I think, because I only ever need umlauts, I still prefer "German (US)" which only adds umlauts to the

I find the best layout for English and German to be "German (US)". It has been such a revelation. I enjoy the comforts of accessible braces while the occasional umlaut (or greek letter) is only an AltGr away. I imagine there might

I am only using rsync.net at the moment, more specifically with the discounted "borg" mode without an explicit full shell. Your comment sounds like tarsnap is more secure (in terms of longevity) than rsync.net. Is this true? If ye

Ironically, I would be positively excited about Youtube really forcing ads by detecting and blocking adblockers. It would be the most effective measure against my high Youtube consumption.

If there are 12^2 = 144 boxes total, you only need to open 2. Not 12 as you said. Put differently: with x^y nested boxes, you only have to open y. The attacker has to open x^y.
