I generally like Jeff's content but this headline borders on clickbait. The "39000 ft" part is achieved with airplane wifi over satellite. Otherwise it's just remote shell to a Raspberry Pi.

Wow, that looks like a whole tensor DSL for numpy (which itself is already an array DSL for Python).

If you're into shape rotations with numpy arrays check out einopt. Also consider using "None" instead of "np.newaxis". To newcomers it's not as self-explanatory but it results in more readable code imho.

Thanks for the info. It does sound much more cumbersome than Ventoy. Given its current state as of linked issue, I still should look into it...

My reason to use Ventoy is the possibility to have multiple ISOs on one single USB stick. Before I would have to dd the new ISO to the stick, wiping what was there before. Effectively this resulted in more writes to flash and ultimately mul

I find the kaleidoscope surprisingly cool. In hindsight it's obvious but to get this out of a raytracer is somewhat unexpected to me. https://github.com/susam/pov25#Kaleidoscope

Good to know. I was going of a sibling comment with a link to their Github repo, in which Cosmic is described as a Gnome skin.

Isn't Cosmic based on Gnome? If yes, at least they did a service to enable the Cosmic DE.

I love the sketchy UI elements. I hate the sketchy text font. Do normal sans-serif fonts and sketchy UI not fit together stylistically?

Do you care to share what forum that is? And is its irc-like chat section searchable? Otherwise it is just forum and chat available under the same domain. But information in the IRC section is still ephemeral.

I'm not the first to say this, but Discord is essentially IRC. It's great for ephemeral chatting and arguably the best platform for that currently. The content on it is not indexed and not discoverable with web search engines. I h

That is true. I guess this specific advice is meant for people who have such high standards (for better or for worse) that they could bring more benefit to the world if they half-ass more things. I agree that telling everybody to half-ass m

Flatpak is actually pretty nice and not affiliated with Canonical. No forced automatic updates with a daemon and easy to manage.
