This is the cyberpunk future reality that the science fiction authors missed the ball on :)

I like this explanation best, as long as they're friendly.

All it takes is a single goatse to appear on one child's furby's eyes or on a demo unit in a shop and the brand is ruined. I think they need to reconsider that response.

Time is only important if you have to synchronise events with other people.

I wore a Casio watch before I got a phone in the late 1990s. Really the best utility there is in the watch space. It's a done and dusted thing.

Exactly that! :)

This is true. I don't actually own one because it is of no use to me.

That’s impressively small. I had a rubidium frequency standard which was several orders of magnitude larger I.e medium sized hardback book. This used a cesium beam approach. Haven’t seen one of them less than a 2U rack before. Dubious as to

Nope not that. I don’t know anyone who would accept the cash to work on products with such a bad reputation. If MSFT offered me £100k right here, right now I’d turn it down.

I believe the answer is because their talent has left and now there are inexperienced comp science grads, UX designers and marketing left and nothing else.

I prefer that story! It leaves me with a picture of Dave and Bill paddling away quickly with a boat full of oscilloscopes (even though this was after their time)

HP was going down the pan when they spun off Agilent with their original business. That was the rat leaving the sinking ship.

This will be trying to close off the holes used to get at the ME OS I reckon.

They took out the bad circuits section and that was it really. The 2nd edition references lots of obsolete logic families and pretty much skips micro controllers. Worth getting the 3rd edition. Some of the content is word for word the same

Another vote for this here. The 2015/3rd edition is recommended over older editions. The previous one was 1989!

Confirmed fixed here on 2013 RMBP as well. Was very annoying. It has also fixed watchdog timer firing in the middle of the night and waking up to a fresh boot.

Yes that was always the problem. If it worked properly it would have been amazing. But it didn't. My daughter has a Lumia 650 and it's a buggy pile of crap. That's SOP from MSFT mobile products.

Microsoft were terrible in the 1980s too (I have a Gates signed copy of MS DOS encyclopaedia here to give you an idea of how far I go back). They abused enterprise customers all through the 2000's. They screwed people on audits, certs,

Indeed. It’s like that for all vehicles. The SM for my car is a windows app. I need a laptop and a cable to debug the car if anything goes wrong.
