The MMT point is that it isn't clear that the interest rate is what killed inflation. A major cause of inflation in the 70s was the 6x increase in the price of oil. From 1980 to 1986 there was nearly a div by 5 drop.

I can't repro the 45% number. BEA says 2021 US GDP is nearly $23T, CBO says total 2021 budget is $6.8T.

Completely unclear what they mean by "high end". If you are doing a new design and estimates of area, pads, packaging and volumes are in the right place, TSMC 28nm or Intel 22nm are both very nice design points. Proven tech, singl

+1 on the get out asap statements. If the contracting is actually keeping your skills sharp, you'll probably do better 100% time. I contracted for 5 years and what I found was that I was hired for my skills, but not paid to grow those

I don't think nuance was the issue for Romney and the "flipping" issue. Romney was a pretty successful Governor of a liberal state. He needed to appeal to nationwide Republicans in the primary so he slid a lot further to the

The stuff tested by a coding interview won't get to staff level or beyond. Cross functional understanding, product or technology insights, strategic thinking, etc. are necessary. Lots of people who come up through the ranks only know h

I think there were a few things that helped me long ago, and based on hiring and helping junior engineers with their career paths I think they still more or less work. 1) Silicon Valley volume of opportunities - lots of companies, lots of p

I believe that is saying understanding ECC function details makes it easier to exploit EEC devices, not that it will be easier than exploiting non-ECC devices. The ECC code word is bigger so it is a larger target, but you have to flip mul

For California, don't forget to add an extra ~$12k for the employer's match on social security and medicare, so you have an extra 6% on the CA tax balance sheet. I don't know if there is an equivalent employer tax is directly

Table 5 says that they assume an average of 5 miles to the charging station (so 10 miles round trip) per fueling trip, and then they are effectively billing the costs of that driving time and the recharge time against the EV. In contrast, t

The Klobuchar PR comment you link dated Feb 4, 2021 references S.225, introduced in February. This article seems to be about a new bill that Klobuchar and Grassley will introduce "next week". In yesterday's WaPo article, Klob

Surprisingly tricky to prove. It looks like Berkeley overhauled its student body statistics about 15 years ago, and data from before seems to have vanished. Is it argument from authority if I cite Karp? https://www2.eecs.berkeley
