It also feels like a result of housing/property values being so high. When a block of flats can sell for £100m (and bring in council tax money), why keep markets or build libraries. It's sad.

True, I think for some people it comes with pressure to help family, friends, etc. Even if nobody knows about it, that's a secret you have to keep.

Cyclists that RLJ are breaking the law, and police do stop them. Admittedly they won't be caught by a camera, like a car would. Equally if something happens (e.g. pedestrian knocked down), they're still liable; not having insuranc

It's easy for them to understand the effect, I think it's harder to explain the cause in a way that resonates.

I'm only comparing them in as much as the risk of people feeling coerced in to making a personal decision. E.g. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx276lwn6n2o . Obviously the outcomes of both actions are rad

It reminds me of one of the arguments against assisted suicide, particularly for disabled people. If the option is there, people start to question why you're not taking it (e.g. if you were extremely disabled, why wouldn't you use

Nothing from Embraer that I've seen. Comac (Chinese, state-owned) has a 737-equivalent, but I'm not sure it would be sold outside of China.

Side note, if you were playing conkers in the 00s are you still too young to be a millenial?

Wouldn't the tariffs help them sell their own cars though? Collaborating with a Chinese manufacturer would only be required because the Chinese cars would undercut on price in the EU market. With tariffs, they won't.

Big fan of the Yoto! The fact you can easily record your own content (grandparents reading stories, etc.) is great.

Yep, it's linked to the most expensive form of generation at that time (which is often gas); known as marginal cost pricing. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/why-is-cheap-renewable-...

It’s already recorded on the MOT, but you don’t require one for a car newer than 3 years old.

It's about $20/month in the UK to watch all of the games (legally) via DAZN. So I guess that + a VPN isn't a bad option.

I’m not sure if they still use it, but there was an Inertial Reference System on board - you set your location at the start of the flight, and then it can (roughly) give you a position using dead reckoning. A large disagreement between this

I can see it being harder on a GA aeroplane (more airflow over control surfaces making them harder to deflect), but not sure the same applies on hydraulic controls.

I also wonder if work/life balance is a contributing factor. If your work ends promptly at 5pm, you have more time and energy to cook a real meal, rather than pick up something like fast food.
