Without the VR element, that sounds a bit like Secret Cinema or immersive theatre companies like Punch Drunk.

A lot of that depends on having access to relatively cheap charging at home/work. If you only have the public chargers, I really doubt the TCO is cheaper for an EV.

I have my Gaggia Classic connected to a smart plug. Okay, it’s not _instant_, but I can decide I want a coffee, turn on the machine from my phone and it’ll be heated by the time I go and make it.

If I lock my hands together, rotating one of my wrists also rotates the other wrist. I'm not saying it's a _useful_ transfer of motion though!

> The new replacement fuels are good, but they have one general large drawback. They require a recertification of the engine/frame of the plane. According to the lobby group AOPA, it will cost the industry in excess of $150 billion

Is that what gives diesels their trademark rattley sound, the injectors?

I think the surveys play a role. They help the employer see whether the new policy will be easy or slightly tricky to implement. Either way it’s happening.

True, but presumably because of the fear of losing energy supply, Europe chose _not_ to react to earlier provocations, including the invasion of the Crimea.

Do their energy exports count as soft power? Arguably that was working quite well, until they further expanded in to Ukraine.

By the time you include corporation and employment taxes, I'd be surprised if the "total cost of employment" per employee was much different in Europe.

Plenty of aerospace/defence companies too; Airbus, BAE, Dassault, Pilatus, Piaggio, Thales, Siemens, Rolls Royce.

Seems like a great deal for HSBC? Presumably the competition regulator gives deals like this a free pass. > As at 10 March 2023, SVB UK had loans of around £5.5bn and deposits of around £6.7bn. For the financial year ending 31 December 2

Interesting, I'm in a house of a similar age/construction but not very well insulated apart from the loft. Have you written up any more information at all; costs too? Assuming you have a cavity wall, did you insulate that?

Depends on what type of miles those 90k were. Highway vs. city makes a difference.

Are most ICE cars automatic? Not here. Although that reminds me, with the ICE you'd probably be looking at a few hundred £ for a new clutch by 90k. EVs still have 12v batteries that need replacing, I thought.

After 90k miles in an ICE, if following the recommended service intervals I'd expect to pay for: - 9x oil/filter change - 2x air filter change - 1x fuel filter change - 2x spark plug change Other things like brakes, tyres, coolant

I wouldn't say that's GFYS, depending on how the dealership staff handled it. Supply issues are everywhere, but I agree that not letting people even sit in a car is crappy customer service.

I'm sad they've stopped making functional-first cars like the Yeti, and now just do versions of VW models. I think Dacia might have taken up the mantle of no-frills and reliable though.

Not even previous gen any more. They just get interiors that aren’t quite as nice (more plastic).

Totally. Plus more pieces to fit on an assembly line, etc. Ironic that requiring cameras to improve safety has potentially done the opposite by killing off physical controls.

I had an eight-gen (2005–2012) Honda Civic, and honestly I've never seen a car with better ergonomics. Climate and radio controls high up and within easy reach of the driver, different sized/shaped knobs so you can differentiate b

For a senior/staff engineer/principal/architect sort of role, I don't think it would be a problem. If you were applying for a junior role, it might be a different situation.
