Quite possibly. But it’s roll dice and hope Apple will fix it or guaranteed have a way out. Regular person can’t even remember their email address so a good point though.

The only thing you need to own is your primary email address and as long as that’s on a domain you own then you can move it. That’s about the only independence there is these days. If you use @icloud.com or @gmail.com for everything then yo

I suspect there is nothing wrong as such ie the system is working as intended. The intention is either overzealous or broken. As for not suing them, I suspect that wouldn’t wash if you were deprived of property due to a software issue.

This is the new upgrade status quo. I wouldn’t do it on a phone but some hot air work on a MacBook to upgrade the SSD would not scare me at all. I did do board rework a long time ago though. What does scare me is the software side of doing

Not sure if it’s a valid data point or not. I manage 7 people’s Apple ID accounts. This has happened a few times including twice last night but only on the people who use the @icloud.com as their primary email address. Assume that is relate

I actually don't care if I'm honest. I will be a good citizen, use all the normal services and blend in with the noise. Data about you looks much more suspicious if there is none. If I wanted to do something nefarious I'd do

We do indeed lead the way in draconian bullshit. We also lead the way in making it utterly unworkable and useless through incompetence, cost cutting and cases getting shot down by ECHR though. Think of us as an example to the rest of the wo

Works fine for me. I sit down, plug my MBP 14" into the studio display, close the lid and carry on where I was. It does a reasonable job of window placement.

No issues here (14" M1 MBP + Studio Display). A lot of the weird issues with multi-displays went away on the Intel to ARM transition. The author is using an old Intel iMac Pro. There are of course window logistics problems but they see

They will accept it. The cover has to be specifically for US hospitals otherwise the insurer won't pay out and they know that and won't accept it. You have to avoid insurers who only cover certain providers as well. You have to re

To be fair I've been to the US a few times and I've never been shot and I did end up in hospital and it was smooth as butter. Because I didn't hang around where I was likely to get shot and actually checked my insurance cover

I think it's a hefty chunk of paranoia. The US is absolutely a non-issue unless you have previously pissed them off. This is the same for every country. What is not is walking 30km in the middle of nowhere in Central Asia because you d

Agreed. I'm not so sure that some of the iCloud data loss bugs people talk about are actual data loss bugs. I've had a few issues over the years. Firstly I spent weeks chasing down what I thought was a data loss bug in iCloud. Aft

It's an exponential decay in pricing. The marketing promise was a faster linear decay but that was unrealistic and was used to bolster investment capital. This affected confidence heavily. Examples here at EO 2023. https://c
