I empathize with you, but I don't have any tips. Any requests to me to make MATLAB part of a distributed computing were given a pretty hard 'no'.

As somebody who appreciates Julia, my opinion is - probably not. That is, unless you want the opportunity to create a killer library that shows how the language features map well to other domains. But, I think a lot of people in scientif

In my experience, it's true. And it's unlikely to change - the simulation code was largely written in FORTRAN and C over a period of 50 years. This is in fact what makes Intel Phi so appealing to some.

If you write a working program in BASH, it will probably work until the day you die. That's why I use BASH for any script I want to be able to forget about. Even long scripts, I have written multi thousand line programs in BASH separa

My personal experience has been that a large number of AMP pages never load. If I search the article title on Google and click the non AMP page, it loads fine. Even after doing that and going back to the AMP link, still won't load. I

Yes, I was thinking you could triangulate the sphere at discreet shells. I have done 2D symmetric polygons where you needed to uniquely index into a 1D array of vertex values. Ie, based on the magnitude you can estimate which shell. By k

Wait what? I have heard a few horror stories about overly-harsh Amazon reviews resulting in a loss of access to AWS. But opening a dispute? Is this true?

Maybe a mathematician can correct me. But could you not also model 3D vertices of uniform density into a 1D space and then uniformly sample the 1D space. Of course this may have issues with highly dense objects or very large ones.

I have thought about that. The outputs from Markov chains and adversarial networks all sound like crap. Despite 15 generations attempting to codify tonal harmony, there are only a few relatively few hard rules, followed by an unending lite

One of the problems that the Ruby community seems to have focused on is bridging the gap between code and ideas. I say this as a non-Ruby-programmer. At the end of the day, computers simply read language and convert that into some basic op
