Given that your examples of using std::cout are using the wrong I/O direction, I am surprised you have "25 years experience of c++". Perhaps, that annoyed him too. Still, yelling doesn't help much of anything. Edit: OP

I hope it's not too off topic. But on Linux systems with NVIDIA drivers - is it even possible/reasonable to re-enable secure boot?

Perhaps the terminal is linebuffered. (edit: I forgot that `!` was a character in Rust, so I mis-read your comment, oh well).

I have interviewed a lot of developers, and floating point precision is one of my common phone screen questions. My experience is; those who should know about it, do. Of course, a lot of apps or web developers don't. And I think th

I have known founders with 0 experience hack together god awful C++ programs that ran their business long enough for them to fund competent programmers. Never underestimate the value of a persistent person!

The scam was not by all btc pioneers. In the last year, there were a lot of holders creating marketing networks filled with misinformation and half-truths. That convinced a lot of people with little financial education and little unders

I am probably one of the few who has gone the other way. I had a Facebook when it was college e-mail only. I got rid of it... and then I added it back this year. It turns out that Facebook is fundamentally required if you want to schedule

I understand what you are saying, and I agree that it's true in principle. But, if C++ did not provide me predictable optimizations - it would be worthless to me. I know scientific computing is only one domain of computing. But witho

Is the C++ standards committee trying to make the language as incomprehensible to its users as possible? I cannot even begin to comprehend what assembly is going to be generated in this code sample. Are those calls indirect? Can they be v

I think the market has decided, America is going green independent of federal regulations. Oil independence means the US will never again need to ally with despots to support domestic needs. IMO this is a huge step forward.

Pixel 3 is an expensive piece of crap. Call quality sucks, battery life is terrible. And the USB-C will for stretches fail to recognize the provided earphones as an audio device (it reports that it's charging them). There are somehow
