Mistakes like this happen often, being able to purposefully delete history (at least as far as the remote is concerned) is a very important feature of a VCS.

Most of the time the information is not lost, and if you act quickly, it often just takes some git-reflog-foo to wrestle it out (or possibly as simple as looking at ORIG_HEAD, depending on how you 'lost' it). History not referenced will eve

Physical books are much easier to quickly skim through, to jump to a random page (based on position rather than page number), I also find the search of most ebook readers (looking at the Kindle) to be rather bad. However these are more due

Although I am a fan of plan 9 in general, I don't really see how posting a link to the Wikipedia article is useful.

Thank you for that insight, glad to hear that you are able to comfortably use a computer :) As much as I wish you weren't in pain, it is a little comforting to know that there are others in a similar situation. The main advantage of the kin

Similar story for me, I'm 21 and due to bad computer and mousing habits I have quite nasty RSI/OOS in my wrists. Switching to an ergonomic mechanical keyboard (kinesis advantage) and a keyboard-heavy workflow (vim) allows me to work as a de

It is doing something a little smarter than that, as gofmt understands the language it is parsing it rather than just a textual find/replace. The interesting thing here is that you can make your other tools use this, it makes writing tools

I wasn't actually aware of their history as a less-than-legitimate site, I guess that helped with the chicken and egg problem of content and audience. Region licensing is definitely one of the big killers, I find it odd (read: sad) how comp

I really wish business practices would change to meet this demand. I recently came across crunchyroll [1] which has a huge amount of japanese animation available to watch online 'for free' if you can put up with ads, or you can pay $7/month

I think I'm missing something, but I'm sure I have used plenty of hotkeys that are not in this list (ie; insert line before current). Can someone explain?

This font renders odd in IceWeasel 10.0.12 , all occurrences of the letter 'e' have their left side 'cut off' so they stand out and are very difficult to read. Chromium Version 22.0.1229.94 Debian 7.0 (161065) works fine.

Every steam game I own requires the steam client to be running while I am playing the game, the games become bricked if I remove steam so this is DRM. I can go into offline mode for most games, but the client must always be there. Installin

However once (if) Perl 6 does come out and take hold I still think this would cause confusion. Explaining it is also a solution to the 'problem' they are trying to solve here, namely that 5.x seems 'dead' and 6.x seems 'alive'. A little exp

I'm not sure how common this is for HTML5 games, but I really do appreciate how I can download this and play it locally. Being forced to always play it online via a webserver is one of the things that puts me off HTML5 games (or browser bas
