Yes this certainly doesn't add incentive to get things done right the first time around.

Wow, I was expecting this to get some criticism as I clicked the comments, but this is a bit more negativity than I would have expected from HN.

On the topic of searching, F# should have a Hoogle equivalent.

He's no longer a minor, so does that still apply because he was a minor at the time it happened?

So is it .bind() itself that is slow, or the function that it returns? Assuming the bind operation itself is done during initialization, its slowness is pretty irrelevant.

Since bind() creates a new function just before it's added as a listener, you'll have to save that function somewhere and use that as the listener you want to remove.

The use of list comprehensions is optional, and would probably not be covered in an introductory course anyway.

What psychiatric illness was she diagnosed with that would make her a threat to others? I couldn't find anything beyond self-harm, and not to make light of it, but a survey seems to suggest that incidents of adolescents and adults sel

I'm having a hard time seeing how Yale's decision would protect other students -- on the contrary, the message that would send to other students is, "you better not do something to deviate from the norm in an undesirable way

As is usually the case with language design, performance and optimization are often on the opposite side of the scale from code learn-ability and usability. More than likely, the "huge engine" would be some other burden the langu

It's hard to believe a group such as the Gates Foundation would think this way given the stakes.

And yet he doesn't care about type systems, which are largely implemented to help with optimization, you see.

Well given the subject matter they've both chosen to revolve their life work around, doesn't seem that implausible. Edit: Basically I'm just agreeing with you.

HN is the closest thing I've found that addresses that -- I still have to wade through much of the startup stuff which is irrelevant in my case. When I already know what I'm looking for, using HN search will lead to me to what&#

Nope, I wasn't aware it existed. At first glance it looks very useful, although I don't think I'm a fan of the bubbly look and the spider leg edges (my maps tend to be fairly large, so I suppose I like a more compressed look

Fantastic work, I've been using Freemind up to now and I haven't been able to find something web-based that is comparable until now.
