On the nature/nature aspect people are already predominantly nature. For the nurture component of the residual the early years are very formative. As an expat who has spent much more of my life outside my country of birth than in it, a

AFAIK, in the case of Microsoft, it's less FOMO and more about execs being able to impress their peers at other companies. So not really a fear of missing out but a desire to have an exclusive access to a technology that has already be

You have to be careful how you define metabolic disorder, do you mean entirely genetic of which there are not many, or do you mean auto-immune of which there are very many. To the point I'd even suggest that it's the dominant fact

When giving a generalization it's important to constantly note that exceptions exist. On the percentage of exceptions I think it's higher than commonly thought for a few reasons, most autoimmune disorders are still undiagnosed and

AFAIK it's the speed of the effect that is the dominant cause of addiction in this class of drugs, the drug has to outrun counter effects in the brain. Modafinil is slow onset and long lasting. It's also a weaker ligand so the bod

I think one of the causes of addiction is dopamine dysregulation where the normal feels bad and drugs help fix that, at least temporarily. I wonder if instead of using strong drugs such people would be better off skipping the addiction part
