yep, all true... this is a solved problem on how to do it right. The fact that the OP finds this interaction funny leads me to believe they don't understand how it can be done correctly, which is scary.

I only said check it out, there is a lot of content there useful to the wider topic and the page clearly states what it is and isn't. >>> IMPORTANT!!! What this calculator is NOT . . . It is NOT a “Password Strength Meter.”

Old password detection isn't necessarily a sign of weak security, if they are doing it right, they are just comparing a hash of the new password to saved previous password hashes. It is probably debatable if it is better security to no

Password managers are "obviously" the solution - in my experience they generate good passwords that are accepted almost all the time now days. However, I still think 3rd-party password managers are too complex for many people, and

I dunno, maybe when you become is big/complex you stop prioritizing supporting niche fake non-standards compliant mass storage devices? You'd never do that though I'm sure.

I felt the exact same way. I get that it's a writing style and I won't complain about that, but when applied to an argument as subjective "I don't like that color, I like this color", it doesn't work so great.

It's a trend and fashion, and not a particularly new one. Why is the author so annoyed by it? I got strong "old man yells at cloud" vibes from what seems to be a very young person. Strange.

Salary data is the least interesting part of this... You have been fired 3 times, quit 4 times, demoted once, and twice had contract not renewed. At what point do you conclude that maybe your problem isn't "pay discrimination"

Usefulness of the API aside, the tone of it is full of red flags. Combined with all the other red flags, I can't help but to read it like this: "You should be grateful I ever bothered to make an API, if it changes that is your pro

Car culture hasn't "built up". It has always been. It is on cyclists to change it, if they aren't winning, there is a reason - people like this guy are not helping their cause at all.

These types of guys are dumb. No sympathy. Just because it was declared legal doesn't mean it is a good law. We have lots of laws like that, but most of them won't get you killed swiftly.
