Call me cynical (which is fair), but I would be very pleasantly surprised if Google's "report inappropriate results" links were actually logged and analyzed by an actual human instead of routed to /dev/null, because

This won't be a popular statement, but archivers don't have a legal right to reproduce websites, either. I imagine archive.today is on even shakier ground via bypassing newspaper paywalls. archive.org operates under an opt-out pol

I hope the anti-trust investigation focuses on search. They have an obscene monopoly on search, built largely on the massive amounts of our personal data they have access to (through Chrome, Gmail, YouTube and so on), even though their prod

I am not trying to convince the author of this post, but I'd like to speak to other web developers here: yes, please offer a dark mode! When I want to do some light reading in bed at night (I do have a blue light filter on for that), I

Absolutely; native filtering support to exclude the domains of my choosing would be the killer feature for me that would make me switch to basically any search engine. I'll even sign up for an account there, and all the possible privac

Outside of DoS'ing (which is admittedly Cloudflare's wheelhouse, but a rare concern if you aren't posting anything controversial or in a highly competitive space), you can host a site on a $5/month VPS and very trivially

That does make sense. If I were using Cloudflare I suppose it would be a no-brainer, and if I were Cloudflare and didn't want people not routing their traffic through me on my registrar, that would be an excellent way to discourage it.

I'm curious how you feel about CloudFlare as a registrar not allowing GitBook to use an external root nameserver. Being forcibly stuck on CloudFlare's own nameservers only sounds very nefarious, and isn't a limitation I'

Truly, I don't know how one can look at Windows 10 and think Microsoft has in any way improved: the entire OS spies on you at every corner now, bloatware automatically installs in the background, updates are installed without your cons
