This is all true. What's also true is that she was a NIMBY and an inspiration for later NIMBYs. She was right to oppose "urban renewal" projects that destroyed natural urban fabrics in the name of top-down planning visions. B

I think it's more realistic to build a bunch of 10-20 story buildings in Davis than a single 72 story one. The engineering is much easier.

The building in Michigan is in the same style but not as extreme. From what I remember, it has worse ratings than other dorms, and the complaints are about the lack of light.
