Still not sure the local library should be responsible for the actual preservation, but I like your idea on principle -- maybe having a more central organization or archive handle the preservation and coordinate determining what needs prese

To what degree is preservation the responsibility of a local lending library? (As opposed to an archive; a museum; the Library of Congress; county courthouses; etc?)

Many people I know who do part time work DO get leave and health benefits. But the original post by e12e I was replying to above doesn’t say anything about full time - it was just talking about calculations to extrapolate wages from income:

I didn't see any specification of "full time". Besides, what does that have to do with the issue anyway? If we're talking about calculating annual incomes, many of those workers work well over 40 hours per week across

Were talking a lot here about median wage. The article specifies 80% or workers. What’s the 80th percentile income?

Vue won’t let you pass changes in data upwards through the component hierarchy. Once you need to do that (and you need to do that in any non-trivial application), your only options are event passing (which quickly becomes awkward and diff

I’m all for teaching people to defend themselves, but why is the onus for fixing the problem put on the potential victim rather than on the perpetrator, or on the culture as a whole?

Yeah, there are sort of two different issues at stake here. One is how to get broadband to rural areas, which is why Spectrum is being penalized. The other is how to provide some sort of competition in urban areas, which this move seems to

There were already plenty of locations where TWC/Spectrum was the only option available. The cable companies have each had neighborhood-level monopolies for as long as I can remember.
