Unfortunately that's not really doable. A shocking number of contracts specify that the corporation not hire known criminals. I have seen lax ones specifying only that a background check is conducted.

The larger issue is the natural tug of war between government and industry. Pretending that such a 'law' could be passed - and globally, ultimately industry would find some way to effectively collect this data by doing something t

Agreed. It's literally what got me into programming and entrepreneurship. Wrote and sold my first piece of software in Hypercard (and then SuperCard!). I desperately wish it were still real, for my kids. I think it'd be far be the

A yank test on process and infrastructure is more than a 'did it come up'. It's a "if we totally nuke the thing" - say, were we to rip the hard drives out of a server, fry it, and recreate it - does it come up ident

I find the whole thing offense. I'm 'white'(ish coloured), I'm also half-african, half-asian, due to geography, and I'm sick of the identity politics. At the end of the day, I can be ~28th generation African, 28th

We rely on it - Elastic 6.2.2, logstash latest - we forgo kibana. But to be fair, we completely repackage this into our own dockers, to make life better.

Saw this in my inbox yesterday and was excited... until I read it. Nothing changed. Ultimately Elastic is still looking for a revenue model beyond consulting that makes sense. Our company needed to build a bunch of this ourselves, simply

I run a similar experiment, with real money and allow my robot to trade on my behalf. For long-term investments, I continue to follow the indexed-only ETF-based couch potato model, but I'm happy to let this run. I view it as a risky i
