Let bring back gold payments! There are already some institutions that offer gold certificates: notes that represent gold stored in some bolt and collectable on demand. It was a good idea all along and the reason that "gold back curren

Same for me. I had really weird stuff to debug. Could not save from FF to /tmp for instance (and I really like that for downloads I should use immediately and can be removed). I found Keepass to be a snap/flatpak once: so many ext

Ruby newly added type system can also help here. For starters, it'd be nice to know what type(s) the keys and values can be.

Mandatory Bill Hicks quote: "Isn't making a plant against the law the same as saying that God made a mistake?" We need some constitutional guarantee that reschedules all victimless crime to offenses at worst, or not a problem

Same for cigars. This comes very close to "taste policing". If you can some ciggies on the street, then you can smoke all things (legal/decriminalized) on the street. Or it becomes whimsy.

I thought Linus and other believed GPLv2 was fine and the improvements of GPLv3 did not outweigh the potential problems introduced by it. It never came to a point where all authors were asked to agree, or sign away their ownership.

Seems you are not arguing in good faith. What you say is true, but totally irrelevant: language creators are not trying to make useless languages.

Would Linux 0.01 boot work in a virtual environment? (VirtualBox or QEmu) If not it might be interesting to fork it into a linux-zero-dot-zero-one project that merely tries to make minimal adjustments so it runs virtualized on modern hardwa

Not true. There are some real cryptographic realities that are based in "open" math principles. There's also the way of most using runtimes/libraries that (constantly) have CVEs in them; and understanding why it is that

I loved HAML (and RoR) when I was a dyn-lang believer. I've since learned some Haskell and now believe in strong typing. This also drove me away from HAML. Kotlinx.html is pretty close being a type safe HAML.
