As far as I can tell it is possible to get this sort of quality game with a properly tuned harness out of one of the cheaper models.

I think the Chinese don’t share the “AGI-pilled” understanding of AI that you see in some US companies and part of government. Thus they are far less likely to do something like this.

Sorry you had to remove this post. As far as I can tell it did not say anything that is not already in the public domain. The story of DeepSeek is incredibly inspirational: The founder being a phd in computer science, completely bootstrappi

Those allegations reeks of projection and as far as I can tell in the case of DeepSeek - it is simply not true that their model is a distillation of a Western model.

Why would it be ok that a monopoly business prevents free competition and consumer choice by only allowing certain or a single model provider that likely gives them kickback via some opaque business deal?

The business model is the reason they won’t deliver the feature (allowing the end-user to choose the backend model).

My trading app (Nordnet - big in Scandinavia) is plastered with ads for the SpaceX IPO. I don’t think I have ever seen this before.

Let us hope the EU forces Apple to allow the end-user to choose the external model: Wouldn’t it be amazing having privacy first local models calling out via a welldefined open protocol to a model of your choice: Claude, Grok, DeepSeek? Soun

That is a very good question. It is open source / open weight - yet none of the third party providers, that also host Deepsek, seem to be able to match Deepseek itself on price. My guess is that they do aggressive caching / some p

Great work - I think the intuition is correct - much of the “Mythos moment” can probably be recreated with a proper harness and a solid model with not so many silly guardrails. And nice to see the cheap models doing so well.

As I understand Jane Street they have done great things for OCaml and they also do their own web framework (I guess that big money bin needs a lot of dashboards). I think the designer here takes a wrong approach and sort of falls into engin

LLMs as provided by Antrophic and OpenAI represents an enormous centralization of computing, and are black boxes that end-users are completely at the mercy of.

You can just pick stocks - if you pick a fairly low number of large stocks in broad categories with correct weight, you will track the index.

Coinbase IPOed 5 years ago and is (and has mostly been) trading below its IPO price. Perhaps private equity has become so skilled that when they finally sell to the public they leave nothing on table.

When I am chatting with ChatGPT - it is fairly obvious that it is American - its native language, its style, its attitude is American - even if we chat in Danish. Just as we cannot rely on Netflix and HBO to produce Scandinavian TV-shows ev

As far as I can Google the colossus data centers did cost about 7-10 and 18 B respectively. Renting them out in part at 1.25 B pr month sounds like a very good deal for spacex.
