This is an obvious satire based on Half-Life itself. The logo is an exact copy, it talks about resonance cascades, etc.

NTFS is very much an old school file system design, where most/all metadata is stuffed into predefined regions on the disk. NTFS's MFT, in particular, can and does grow as needed (though it never shrinks!), but as entries in the M

I like spreadsheets to get things done quick 'n dirty, but I feel like the threshold to where a spreadsheet becomes painful and the problem is better solved with a database (SQLite would do) and custom application is remarkably low.

Guix and Nix will provide you binaries, installed in /gnu and /nix so they don't conflict with anything else.

At that point, you may as well just have Debian in a jail or chroot using the Linux ABI compatibility layer built into FreeBSD. :)

Never really had any users, despite being an official port for two releases (Debian 6 and 7). It was a bit of a neat experiment, but that's about all it was. FreeBSD is a tightly-developed operating system on its own, and separating ou

Python's maybe not the best example, since it's pretty easy to build and install to any location you want. On the other hand, you might want to install Guix and/or Nix on top of Debian.

1. Fully working IPv6 network. 2. No restrictive firewall (pings work just fine in unicast contexts) 3. Used "ping ff02::1%enp34s0" exactly as the article suggests. 4. What year is it? "ping6" hasn't been a thing fo

It looks weird to me too, but it's hardly indecipherable. You have a four-digit year (2000), there's only 12 months in the year, so the "28" is the day and "03" is the month. In ISO 8601 format, it'd be 20

Article is extremely light on details. Clockspeed isn't even remotely the only issue (Windows XP will install on a 60 MHz Pentium; not a pleasant experience but it works). Windows XP requires the CMPXCHG8B ISA instruction and it is not

SpongeBob brazenly violates 3D space rules (I mean, they also have fire underwater...). The writers and artists both draw heavy inspiration from Looney Tunes, where such rules are broken because it's funny to break them.

It's not the whole story. In genuine currency, serial numbers are only unique within a series. Series 2017A and series 2021 notes can (and in fact do, since they start over at A00000001A) have identical serial numbers.
