I think most people surprised at the PostgreSQL model of databases and schemas are coming from a MySQL/MariaDB background where the terms are synonymous. PostgreSQL matches the model of basically every non-MySQL database when it comes

Same here with Firefox on GNOME on Arch. I do have amusement when the author says it's a black square on every renderer he's tried, but we trivially trigger something else :) Seems like he's on Mac OS X and so I guess it'

Isn't it more effort to do the screenshot than a simple copy+paste?

UTF itself is already short for "Unicode Transformation Format" and certainly predates any usage of the middle word by ML projects.

That issue sounds like a configuration error; I don't even encounter said "gotcha" on Linux systems. Even if you grant it to be a simple bug, it's not exactly a grave design issue with ZFS.

That's in common with the conversion from ext[234] and reiserfs, too. Makes it easy to both undo the conversion and inspect the original image in case the btrfs metadata became wrong somehow.

Once you run out of letters, it gets confusing too. Ubuntu's wrapped around I think twice in its history; it goes through code names from A to Z before starting over again. Is Gutsy Gibbon newer or older than Babbling Baboon? At least

"js-info" is a name that's defeating attempts to search for it. Would you mind elaborating? Texinfo does seem like something in between (La)TeX and AsciiDoc in difficulty, while hypothetically being just as rich in markup as

"Was" in an operative word. Nintendo was selling N64 games virtually on the Wii in 2007. They have yet to improve on that offering. The closest they got was Super Mario 3D All-Stars that included emulation of a GameCube (Mario Sun

Ostensibly not true :) Even in the vanilla engine, Z axis calculations are used everywhere (one of the most obvious visual effects is when fireballs and rockets fly over your head). "Doom is 2D" is an urban legend dating to the 19

Chocolate Doom is basically the state of the art for playing Doom exactly vanilla-style, with the low 320×200 resolution and all. GZDoom should be more preferable for "normal" people that care less about every bit of game mechanic

I've always thought the "M" stood for "Microsoft" -- wasn't even aware any browsers other than IE supported it.

It might make sense if ReactOS's software compatibility was higher, but alas, it's a lot better on the Linux+Wine side of things than direct ReactOS.

It's the same advantage as, for example, letting ZFS manage your mountpoints: the pool itself contains all the configuration related to the file system, including NFS exports. It'll allow the export to be inherited to child datase

Windows Vista included WAV files with the OS that contained MP3 audio :) I don't know if newer versions still do that. I'd be a little surprised if they don't, given the previous version.

It's that last statement that makes it completely impractical. There isn't even a de facto standard for metadata with wav files. Most players/software don't even bother at all. FLAC pretty firmly settled on the ogginfo f

ZFS already stores three logical copies of all metadata, regardless of copies parameter or vdev redundancy. The failures LTT experienced went way beyond what ZFS, or btrfs, could repair. They made severe errors in judgment when setting up t

It is an experimental feature on FreeBSD 14-CURRENT. It will be merged into OpenZFS eventually (and maybe backported to FreeBSD 13-STABLE and whatever new point releases happen).
