Online voting is a terrible idea rife with flaws, intentional and unintentional. In-person paper voting is the only reasonable system.

It's a different enough system, I think it's worth restating what Linux's present ACLs are, which were based on a POSIX draft: They are additive permissions that model the Unix mode bits. Per-user and per-group, you can add r

I think "no one" is a fairly tall claim: They are well-used on all the operating systems that do support them. Mind also, "old POSIX ACLs" came from a POSIX draft: they never made it into POSIX. While being an extremely

It's primarily a corporate-level thing, but just as Windows has a strong set of ACLs that people at home ignore, it could be the same scenario on Linux.

Linux's refusal to adopt RichACLs/NFSv4 ACLs forever perplexes me, and maybe some day I'll be pleasantly surprised when they do show up. A complete superset of NTFS's ACLs, thus providing good cross-platform compatibilit

For me, it's still fun regardless, and removes a lot of friction for knowing where to get games: from my own legit copies of said games! (for as frequently as sites/archives go down that host pirated copies... it's honestly w

I've done it, and won't pass negative judgment on anyone doing so, but being able to dump your own games actually feels like a bit of an accomplishment, it's just nice to not have to pirate your own games to use them in emula

Unfortunately the window of Switch consoles sold that are softmoddable (afaik) was very narrow and early on, about the first ~18 months of the console's life (and mind, it is 5 years old now). Most units of the standard console are not

AVCHD was basically that concept: it uses the Blu-ray file structures, formats, and codecs, but stored on a DVD-R(OM). It has the problem that it only works in Blu-ray Players, not standard DVD players, so the usefulness of it is drasticall

If the original production isn't possible to master in HD, then fine, you don't have a choice but to (hopefully) enjoy the show in SD. Same if it is possible but it hasn't been done (eg: Star Trek DS9 and Voyager). On thinkin

I never thought a geographical term would be that contentious. To me, it sounds similar to objecting to the continent(s) known as "the Americas" simply because the USA is often known world-wide as just "America".
