Think less about 'ported javascript to lua' and more 'ported a modern web frontend to be used for a modern game frontend.' Keep in mind Roblox supports a large combination of operating systems, consoles, phones, and pho

To counterpoint this with 'not for thee, but for me.' If you are spending > $1m/yr with AWS this will never happen. The decisions need to go through a TAM who will block this kind of thing. For smaller users I can imagin

Serf is used within Consul for agent to agent checks (and some communication). There's an entire subsystem called the 'serf check' that shows up within every single Consul agent. It's one component of the entire '

Nomad has a remarkably strong community for it's size. I'm almost positive it will continue to live in some format, even if completely hard-forked. I know if nobody else does anything I will do something myself, personally. I lov

Yes. This scalping community is gross. It's not about collecting it's about scalping, let's all be blunt and clear here. If someone is excited about sharing something that's completing some part of their collection I t

You can do this really easily today with cdktf, I'd imagine there's some interop with opentofu there that's possible?

I wrote a Tampermonkey script which more or less was a true 'automate someone out of a job' situation, except it didn't do that at all; it freed up 20+ hours a week that someone had to sit there and do this awful manual thing

Try Pop_OS. I had a lot of issues with Ubuntu as a daily driver, however Pop seems to have cracked the code. Fedora has also worked OK for me in the past.

As someone who just got the OLED Steam Deck the spark is not gone!! Valve is still the same company, they’re just succeeding in very different ways. I think this is the benefit of not being a public company. They’ve pivoted over and over

8hr sounds accurate. There’s a wattage slider and you can only set it so low. You might be able to get more out of using the desktop and forcing some idle modes, however it’s impressive enough as is at a few watts and many hours on a port

You're being downvoted. I disagree with that vote, as I cannot tell if this is serious or sarcasm and that makes it an excellent comment.

Not related to tech at all; tina.io brings me joy with it's marketing. It's all a direct reference to Napoleon Dynamite which still makes me smile when I think about it. I will be trying it out solely based on this first impressi

Apple Arcade allows these types of games and removes all monetization like this. The games are still kinda predatory in their frustrations, however there’s no coin to spend. You just randomly get items and that’s it.

Maybe I’ll take flak for this. I feel like Slack and kin have done the best job here for providing remote collaboration tools. I feel much more productive in write-first teams. Meetings can be done over Zoom then, and they’re always sho

You can also do like me and just make your cursor gigantic. I keep it at about 75% of max size. My co-workers may make fun of me but using huge text and a giant cursor has actually caused my eyesight to improve in the last 2 years or so.
