Sounds like they haven't really broken apple's DRM - Zeusmos relies on getting a developer profile for your phone's UDID and re-signing the apps under that dev profile, which means the apps will expire in a year or so. And Kuaiyong relies o

It's quite simple: most iPhone apps just leave the GPS turned on 100% of the time when in the background, as it's complicated to do otherwise (or you can use the borderline-useless 'significant change' cell-tower location api's). Android gi

Here's what i'd do if i was in your situation: find a local school that's interested, and volunteer some time teaching programming to kids. Maybe teach them how to make iphone games - they'd love that :) Sorry to hear you're in a funk, we a

You have to keep in mind that, traditionally, app sales basically halve week on week for the first month or so, and then hit a plateau. You basically make all your money in the first month (or two, if youre really lucky). So, if i was in th

I hope they read this (not sure if they will), but: Ads! I've a friend who gets approx $4/user/year from a non-game mobile app from ads through mobclix. I think it's a fair assumption that you'd get even more ad impressions on a game (as pe

Please: let me buy high quality 256k mp3's of all this to put on my ipod. If i could buy enough so that i'd never notice repeated tracks, i'd love it.

I love the idea of the printed book being sent out each quarter - that's very cool! Scrapbookers would love that.

There really seems to be a meme at the moment for stories about how difficult it is to make money on the iOS / Mac app store. Ever since the sparrow acquisition, it seems like every day there's another similar story on the front page of HN

I can attest to doing the same. Now i'm on jekyll+S3 and haven't looked back - it's great! Having said that, the jekyll posterous image exporter i couldn't get to work. But i don't post many photos so that didn't worry me.
