A gaming PC is probably your best bet. PC workstations for ML are extremely expensive.

This is the big problem with treating your home as an investment. People who just want a place to live near where they work now have to play this game too. And it's not cheap game.

It's not just a Google annoyance, these types of things are all over the web. I have uBlock Origin settings to limit these types of things, like others in this thread have explained. But there's a bigger issue with the modern web.

Yes. It's very easy to fall into this trap. It's the classic "overestimate what can be done in 2 years but underestimate what will be done in 20 years". Life in 2 years will be almost identical to what it is today but li

I've been on embedded projects where several weeks of work were spent on changing one line of code. It's not necessarily organizational dysfunction. Sometimes it's getting the right data and the right deep understanding of a

Nice, I like seeing projects like this. In fact I always wanted someone to make a complete system based on GNUstep. Like a Mac but open source software and hardware. App store, customer support, all that.

I believe if RISC-V takes off then most of the popular commercial RISC-V implementations will come from existing chip companies. Qualcomm, NVIDIA, NXP, TI, Samsung, MediaTek and a bunch in China. Of course, the performance of those companie

I'm leaning "no" and "yes, for what we know so far" to your questions. I think tools are fine depending on how you define a tool and its relationship to human intelligence. If we build an artificial pancreas that le

I agree with you LLMs are not intelligent. But in this world, in this universe, there are lots of problems to solve. Humans understand these problems more than any other organism or machine we know of, but we are not general. The most we ca

Human intelligence is not general intelligence. If it were, you'd be able to use your conscious thoughts to fight off diseases and you wouldn't need your immune system, for example. The problem I see isn't that AGI isn't
