I'm struggling to understand why anyone would think Google is doing this for user's privacy. I admit I haven't dug into what's going on here in detail, but my first reaction was Google is running a small model on the use

This one is interesting and has potential, for me. I never liked HTML/XML/etc and Markdown might be a little _too_ minimal.

Yes, I'm not buying this story about layoffs due to AI. It's a convenient excuse, which these companies seem to be getting away with too. And something else I don't get about these AI related layoff announcements: if AI was a

I keep re-learning this lesson: I chug along with a lesser model then throw a problem at it that's too complex. Then I try different models until I give up and bring in Opus 4.6 to clean up.

Local? No idea. Cloud? Eleven Labs, probably. But it's described as "cloning" not "training". Not sure what the distinction is or why it matters if the end result is you can to generate any TTS that sounds like you.

Ceilings do fall on people. LLMs do delete production databases. Will these things always inevitably happen? No, but the moment it does happen to someone I doubt they will be thinking about probabilities or Murphy's law or whatever. I

I'm American. If the choice is between the current US direction or China, then no, I don't think the word "healthy" should be anywhere near this discussion.

These might help if the provider doesn't offer the same details themselves. Of course, we have to wait for the newly released models to get added to these sites. https://llmfit.io/ https://modelfit.io/

I'm also an enterprise user and this has been my experience exactly. Same asks, same code bases, same models, much worse results. Everyone on my team is expressing the same thing. Not only that, but the lack of transparency about what&

Exactly. Crunching numbers in a datacenter is one thing, and it's a good thing. But being out in the physical world, making a positive impact and bringing value at scale is a whole other ball game. And we are nowhere near that. And bef

Not now. But my question is, what was stopping IBM from doing what Arm did? We are where we are now and it's too late. But as far as I can see, there was nothing too special about Arm as compared to PowerPC back then, on a technical le

Maybe I don't know enough technical details about these CPU architectures or IP agreements, but I don't see why IBM couldn't have done what Arm did but with PowerPC.

There's a lot of AI slop on YouTube unfortunately. But with YT Premium (or adblockers) I can't think of a better platform currently for finding distraction free content focused on your interests.

It doesn't have to be that way though. There's a bigger scam in the tech industry in general that says the path we're on is the only path we can be on. More software doesn't have to mean less value for the customer. More
