answers.onstartups.com is a pretty good resource, though I sometimes get the feeling that it's overrun with "idea guys."

How much are you willing to be available to the companies you are invested in? Does your bandwidth allow for companies that would like some product advice, but aren't interested in funding at the moment? If so, what's the best channel to as

Is AT&T able to detect you tethering? Or, if I tether, will I get a huge data bill even though it's "unlimited"?

Sounds like a great idea, do you all meet in person or just set up a group video conference? I like the possibility of doing this locally, ideally to meet up face to face.

Not sure why this is getting downvoted, it seems to be a perfectly reasonable request. I, for one, wanted to get in touch.

I don't think there's a grey area at all. You're still on the company's time whether you write support emails or are on the phone doing a deal. I wonder if there's any grey area with regard to working during a lunch break.

mncaudill, If you're wanting someone to drop you a line, perhaps putting some contact information up would help?

Glad to see Ryan on Mixergy. I remember meeting him at a UNC Entrepreneurship Club meeting my freshman year, back when he was still running Virante as the marketing arm of iContact. He and Aaron definitely practice what they preach.

Hate to be nitpicky, but the U.S. Mint does not print anything. They mint coins. They fund operations with licensing the Minting machines to other nations and collectible coins. They also at one point minted other nations'coins.

When you're in a confrontation, there's either fight or flight. The practitioners of parkour consider it a martial art in that it represents the "flight" aspect.

I think any martial art is beneficial as the very nature forces you to stop thinking about programming. I've personally chosen Muay Thai as it puts special emphasis on physical conditioning, and I tend to work best not stressing (or thinki

Actually the U.S. Mint is one of the few government bodies that is widely profitable. http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/?flash=yes&action=press_... Granted it's from 2001, but I visited the mint in Denver earlier this year and they stil

I'd be more relieved than pissed. I'd be more pissed off if it was an actual ticket I had to pay! Edit: I do agree that it could possibly be a bit misleading, but the idea of putting a flyer on cars in areas where there is notorious ticketi

For marketing, you could possibly "disguise" flyers as parking tickets, and put them on cars parked in areas that are highly ticketed (downtown, college campus, etc). When a potential customer opens it up, it could have a link to your site

I took the liberty of creating a wiki page for this, figured it would be easier than clicking on users' profile pages all the time to see what they were working on. Hopefully we can get some users on there in a more organized fashion. http

I think Google's banking on people using this tool to send postcards to their non-email friends & family. I think it creates good brand recognition for those that may not have an email address or use email rarely.

Hm, I think it's all a matter of cost/benefit. What value would hiring an administrative assistant bring compared to just having an equity founder with more of an incentive? At least the founder can abstract everything business related away

I'm having trouble discerning what the meaning of "launching" is when most people talk about it. Is it as simple as deploying something to a production server? Or trying to get one more feature in that initial release? Either way, there is

I have a feeling this is all a publicity stunt. The hype has pretty much died down. What better way to get people talking about your Service and your iPhone app (beside apple rejecting it) than to grossly overprice it (see "I am rich" app)?

You could monetize by creating "packages" that those setting up the date could buy, straight from the site. You could also set up deals with venues and restaurants for sponsored dates.
