The basics of devising algorithmic strategies come from the field of Market Microstructure in Finance/Economics. I took a graduate level course on it (math prof. from Stanford). I found a decent graduate level course syllabus with all the m

Alright, I'm calling this out: I want to know the reason for the down-vote. STEP UP! If it's some technical reason that I've ignored, good for you. If it's passive aggressive behavior then not so good.

Although, certain online learning resources inspire confidence -> e.g. Django book, Thinking in Java, O'Reilly Safari etc. The nice thing with an online version is that you can e.g. scale up the text size to an ultra-readable format, ju

When you are first learning a subject it's really helpful to have it printed out on paper. As you chew through it, you can leave all kinds of personal markings, underlinings etc. And you are not distracted by a million other things - a boo
