Isn't that one built in Germany?

Couple of things. With Tor, you cannot control your exit in a sense. Since some websites are really shoddy (a lot of application portals are) and don't have / support SSL, you would be transmitting your entire application profile

Thanks. I'll look into that.

Interesting. Though I'm sure it's still tied to the same customer account, no?

Yes. I can always change to sysadmin later on or just do both at once in a way.

Hmm... I was asking because I am about to graduate in CS. But I think I like Sysadmin stuff more.

I am a bit confused about what you are referring to. Are you saying that we do not have many choices when it comes to work? I am about to graduate, but a lot of people seem to be saying that once you gain experience it is easy to hop to dif

How is that working out for you? Isn't the pay significantly less being a sysadmin?

For Microsoft, they are all under the same Microsoft account. So I guess these big boys have special contracts.

Maybe they will lower the data caps and then ask you if you are willing to sell your data in exchange for more data...

It seems it just provides regular configuration stuff required for certain things. I guess they made this so that people get a good OOB experience when replacing sim cards etc.

Your data and everything else still would go through Verizon... So they can get your stuff either way.

There is also the fact that the Verizon version of the Pixel is not rootable as they locked down the bootloader.

Well, if you buy an unlocked phone, then it won't happen to you either. That's why I bought the Pixel from the Google Store and not through a carrier.

This has nothing to do with Apple vs. Google. It has more to do with Android being Open Source. So they modify Android + put the Google stuff on it (which Verizon is paying a fee for).

Just know that MVNOs usually have some drawbacks. E.g. slightly higher pings, lower priority etc.

But that means there is somewhat a risk of them even showing up and taking all my stuff. I'll rather take ads over that for sure.

Isn't that dangerous? I'd be afraid of random showing ups of FBI at my door.

Digital ocean is blocked by Netflix . At least when I used it with my VPN.

You would be better of putting it on a Digital Ocean and then create / destroy a droplet when you need it. It is what I do and my cost is like $1.50 per month (as opposed to $5).

But where would your VPN go to? It would have to be outside of the US, I assume. That means slower speeds and higher latencies.

These days I enjoy all of the Amazon TV shows a lot more than anything Netflix does (except for House of Cards and maybe Fuller house and that other TV show I forgot the name of). I guess I am just not the target audience of many of the sho

Well, I guess I wanted to see what gets synced, before it gets synced. I can easily do that with rsync by running it in dry mode first. There is also Unison, which is similar.

Maybe I should add that I'm the only user and I don't need to sync between mobile. I also don't need to share since all I need is to sync between my laptop and my Desktop.

I used to use all these Sync programs, but each of them had their own issues (or missing features). So I eventually switched to regular rsync + ssh. The upside is that you don't have to install much serverside.

This makes no sense. If you are getting replaced then it's through an outsourcing company. Your employer wouldn't even be doing the fraud. It's the outsourcing company.
