There is also the issue that movies in Germany and such only have the German Audio track in 5.1, but the English one is in 2.0. How ridiculous.

It may be the sum of the users but it is not an equal sum. Companies like Google and Facebook make up too much of that sum. And don't get me started on all the scummy people and sites online.

As someone who had unsupervised access to the internet as a child, I turned out to be just fine. But maybe beacause the internet was way different back then. (I am talking dial up era intrent). To me after all these years the "new&quot

Hyper-V sucks on the Desktop. Too many features missing to allow good integration between Windows host and Linux. (Like Clipboard sharing, shared folders etc.)

When was the last time you used Linux on a Desktop?

I think it is against physical seizure and tampering. A good part of security against that is obscurity, don't you think?

I guess it was quite a good investment to adopt my dog. But I think by now it cost me over $1000 so it does not qualify anymore. This question is actually quite hard because so many things cost <=$1000, but it is hard to pick one that is

It could also be that you are just very bored, no? I mean, maybe you are the type of person who needs a constant challenge to keep going.

By your logic, ads on website aren't ads either. I remove them once with an extension and they never come back.

Bundling Software was not part of clean installs with ISOs from Microsoft. Now they are.

So Candy Crush and Facebook popping up in your Start Menu are not ads?
582.
by chrisper 9y ago
Does Candy Crush not come back for you? It always did for me.

by chrisper 9y ago
If you had Windows Spotlight on (like the changing background image for lockscreen), they used to show occasional ads there. It could be they removed that.

I cannot confirm this. I have Pro and get the same Popups and shortcuts to Candy Crush etc. They usually get installed during your first setup.
585.
by chrisper 9y ago
It could be. I think it also depends on if you are online at the time of setup.

So does an Apple store have to carry Chromecast and fire TV?

by chrisper 9y ago
Just open the start menu after a fresh install. Candy crush, Facebook etc. will welcome you.

Hmm. Did you buy it officially or did you import it?

Sadly not available outside of the US.

Well, I was thinking of this case (from a German Newspaper, but I am sure there are English sources somewhere as well.) https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev...

Just a question of time until Europe starts having issues with this. Rightfully so.

Wow. Seems like you feel personally attacked. I noticed that you defend working in the US a lot in this thread... not sure what is up with that. But I hope you can somehow relax about this discussion... And btw. I never said everyone should

You also need to think about what you'd lose if you were to work for a big company. I do not know your current company, so maybe there is nothing to lose.

In Switzerland my salary is a lot less (in terms of numbers only). However, I feel like my quality of life is much higher here than it was in the US. You could pay me 300k a year and I'd never want to go back to the Bay Area ever again

Not everyone needs to know my home address. Especially not for a domain I use for emails. Way too many weird people out there.

The website doesn't look good on mobile. Some text is covered by a button or the title is too large for one line.

Then use CentOS?

by chrisper 9y ago
It's more like Gnome + Extensions = Look of Unityish. I used to use Gnome 3 Vanilla + Extensions and didn't like Unity either. Now I am using 17.10 and this new Ubuntu Gnome thingy and I am enjoying it.

Is that why so many higher up people with many years experience get called out for sexual misconduct? I think your argument is not correct...

When I was in college I preferred laptops for this reason. I can type way faster than I can write by hand. So it was way easier to keep up and write everything down. I read my notes on some other day to learn, but during the lecture it was
