There are so many interesting tidbits tucked away in the code, things the devs had to consider that have never crossed my mind whilst playing. For instance, the idclev cheat handling in st_stuff.c has to check if the game is shareware and r

Yep, agreed. I only use Cloudflare's SSL for a couple of static landing page websites. For things like that, I think Cloudflare is perfect. For anything else, I use LetsEncrypt.

This is a nice, concise guide. I use LetsEncrypt for one of my sites running on a DigitalOcean box, they have some excellent documentation there as well. An alternative to LetsEncrypt is to sign up for Cloudflare's free tier. You get f

Agreed, the project looks neat! I didn't have issues with the scrolling, but the page took about a minute to load and render on my 100Mbps connection. Chrome pulled down around 32MB of data to load the page, so no wonder. At some point

>Buying a house all cash is not the way to do it. It's _a_ way to do it though. My argument isn't that buying a house with the cash is the optimal way to spend it, simply that having a house fully paid for is a massive financia

For me—in my 20's living at home—this kind of money would mean I could buy a house/apartment without needing a mortgage. It would be a huge kickstart to my independent adult life, and the savings over the decades from not having a

This could be useful as a build tool plugin to generate consistent typings for frontend and backend code. Of course, using this as a build-time codegen tool means you can't add any custom annotations or methods etc., so it could be a b

Well said. Regardless of what side you're on, the journey is a reward in itself. The process of learning while creating is immensely satisfying, even if nobody sees the end result.

Good question, I did some Googling and couldn't find anything either. Interestingly, not a single result is returned when searching "Meltdown" in Intel's website. Hopefully Intel will fill us in soon.

Nice work, and thanks for sharing! I think your repo serves as a great example of how simple a Chrome extension can be, so it has value as reference material.

I used it for a project when I was at university. It was appalling to use. Lots of the examples on the jQuery mobile website failed (e.g. weird redirections when closing modals, lots of odd flashing and jumping around). A few years later I

Absolutely, lots of people are keen for jQuery UI features without the bloat of jQuery+jQuery UI. For sortable, there's https://github.com/RubaXa/Sortable . It comes in at around ~6KB gzipped, compared to ~80kb for

It would be neat to provide an "iterations" parameter that runs the algorithm N times over the source image. It could be implemented a slider so the results can be animated, after a fashion. I did this manually with the seagull ph

That's a bummer. It makes me sad that we have to stop using hardware that's 90% fit for purpose because we can't upgrade the 10% we need to.

Reparability is the main downside to the retina MPBs for me. With my old MBP I could swap out the battery in 30 seconds, and I could upgrade the RAM. Neither of these are possible any more. That said, I'm still using my 2012 retina MBP

The MBP still has a headphone jack, as far as I'm aware.

That was my experience too. I hear "she'll be right" fairly often, but I hadn't heard "she'll be apples" before. I couldn't imagine any country but Australia coming up with a phrase like that though.

The HTTP response code for fresh.flatassembler.net assets is "200 She'll be apples", I didn't know 200s could be customised like that :)

This is neat, worked for me (I'm signed in to two Google accounts, both were detected). This is really neither here nor there, but your email input field isn't escaped, so JS can be injected into the email field e.g. <script>

I wonder if the website in question is listed on other search engines (I can't see why not). Assuming this is the case, is it fair to force one company to expend the effort altering their search results when others don't have to?
