Academically speaking, yes it is a word. On the other hand, it's not being used correctly in this context, which makes it ironical.

That is a category of non-native speaker that I hadn't considered until you mentioned it. A bot. Perhaps the author of this post, and the article I mentioned aren't human at all. They could be bots. Sorry for being robophobical

Probably. The irony is palpableical. Reminds me of this article I read recently. I could understand it, but it was like reading a foreign language https://www.google.com/amp/s/thedigitalwise.com/2020/0

Ok, grammar nazi alert. Who uses the word academical? I had to google it just to confirm it is indeed a word, albeit a rarely used one that is indistinguishable from the simpler, and in my opinion, the proper word, “academic”. A bit like s

Our product literally exists to present a single simple interface to consolidate and orchestrate across dozens of SOAP interfaces. We handle the complexity so customers don't have to. So I'm glad SOAP exists and is much more com

Fine if you control the clients and the servers, but if you're writing your API for public consumption, API customers want REST not gRPC.

Just add this section to "components" at the bottom for OAuth JWT support? Or are you saying this won't result in code in the client? (sorry the interface here is mangling yaml). components: securitySchemes: bearerAuth:

Funny, just yesterday I wrote the yaml to describe our API according to this spec. The lure of writing the spec once and getting 18 different auto-generated client SDKs is too great to pass up, although I haven't tried any of them out

I concur. Most custom financial software interfaces with systems that a developer could never get access to without the sponsorship of an institution. It’s really, really hard to write good software without a test environment. Mostly bec

There are lots of options out there. I'm currently exploring Cloud Foundry for our platform, since our core API is written in Spring Boot. This page from AquaSec has lots of links to articles comparing Cloud Foundry to Kubernetes.

Thank you for this very practical advice. The thought of trying to dynamically decide whether to render on the client or server side, as the author of this article did, seems so over-the-top complicated to me. Taking your advice is someth

Nice article. It does a great job of explaining just how much unproductive work Google has created for developers. They created SPAs with Angular in 2010, but 10 years later, their search engine still can't properly index client-side-

Transpiling TypeScript to ECMAScript5 using Webpack (as is done in Angular and React) seems to be how folks are solving this. It does strike me as a rather convoluted solution, but it’s a solution.

Thanks for clarifying. This really is a paradigm shift that is happening "under our noses" so-to-speak. I don't want to be the guy who designed his new system using a technology stack that's been shunned.

For a long time it was fashionable to write server side java using POJOs and Spring running in Tomcat or Jetty, and you could get very far just being very good at Java and Spring. You still can. With the advent and surging popularity of mu
