I was about to comment in agreement while also mentioning about having a means to put the hardware up there. But then I realized that there's absolutely no reason why they couldn't just pay SpaceX to put them up there (until Blue

I'm also pretty excited about Arrow Database Connectivity (ADBC) development. https://arrow.apache.org/docs/format/ADBC.html And nanoarrow but it seems like the adoption has been pretty a little slow. Perhaps

I haven't taken a close enough look at it yet, but duckdb supports Sqlite databases, so in theory yes. However, using Sqlite requires a duckdb extension and i'm not sure if works for wasm, and if so enabled this project in particu

I just like to thank you (again) for how much you've made a lot of what is required to get duckdb up and started (esp on AWS) much easier. Interesting to watch the similarities (duckdb wasm) and differences (python vs js) between your

I'm not too familiar with FUSE, but I would imagine that you are doing something similar to registering a custom filesystem on duckdb, then intercepting certain filesystem activities to trigger all the magic described in the blog? Also

Not sure if I entire understand what you're saying. Do you mean to suggest this would work well for digital video broadcasting (or equivalent to it)? If so, this is what I have been theorizing as a potential future step for Starlink. O

If I understand your code correctly, you are bypassing DBAPI's binding functionality and opening yourself up for SQL injection. QParams = sqlbind.Dialect.some_dialect @QParams def make_my_query(value1: str, value2: int):

Isn't low-level hardware really at the heart of a lot of this? Hasn't a lot of the criticism of Cuda been that it's incredibly difficult for others to implement on other hardware bc of the low-level interactions and Nvidia&#x

The Point-of-sale tax credit (effectively what you are describing) for qualifying new EVs is now live in the US too. Whether you actually qualify or not is matter that is taken up between you and the IRS. I believe that if at the end of the

It's not always clear which pushdowns are available in DuckDB. For instance, while x = y has been available for a while, x in (y, z, ...) hasn't. The DuckDB team seems very eager and motivated to get all the pushdown functionality

I feel the same way and struggle with lack of physical controls on my phone (eg iphone flashlight!!!). I couldn't imagine operating a car this way. That said, just want to point out a couple of things that I don't think are true.

I'm interested to understand why you think it should differ between OLAP and OLTP? Are you suggesting that columns closer to the top matters for OLAP bc OLAP is columnar? Ultimately, a query planner is going to figure out what happens
