Our last company went that path. We planned to build one product, but first we had to build an initial feature set to support it. That initial feature saw early traction and we never got around to building the real product. Not a bad outcom

I could be wrong here, but it sounds like you would have been further along than anyone I met in the batch. The majority of folks I spent time with were starting from scratch.

Nowadays you start with $500K though, which puts you in a much better position when speaking with investors as your initial runway isn’t as close to nil.

Yep, it’s a fair critique and I agree it’s odd.

Great question, I imagine there is some truth in both statements. The failure rate in the startup world, especially when success means a billion dollar exit or IPO, is incredibly high though.

I understand the sentiment. The reason the mock-up was quick to create was because the entire thing was already done in my head. There were plenty of folks with very little experience and some with quite a bit of experience. I can’t say tha

Hah, well they didn’t! But the high expectations definitely encouraged us to perform at a higher level, even if we didn’t hit the initial goals.

Thanks! Yeah, sounds like we shared a similar experience. YC definitely starts to make anything feel possible. They give you the tools, it’s up to you to take it from there.

Debates like this are a waste of time and this one even has a clickbait title. They ignore the obvious animal suffering today and instead offer a "what if we just stopped over night, what then?". This essay gets worse as it goes.

Linear, Raycast, Figma and Safari are the only tools fast enough in my daily use for me to really love. Slack seems to be improving and we’re making serious speed gains at Loops.

Thought the same thing, then clicked over. There’s quite a bit going on for how snappy it feels.

This seems like a no-brainer acquisition for Stripe. Afaik this is the one big differentiator for paddle and this seems to solve for it with a lower fee.

All the old episodes are available on HBO Max, I’m watching one from the 70s right now on Saturday morning with my toddler. Hand drawn animations, stop motions and original songs with full bands make for an excellent show. Highly recommend.

Love what the folks at Rownd are building. They have a data privacy background with a goal to kill the login page. It’s a huge and ambitious goal and I’m looking forward to using them in the future as we expand our stack.

Andrei and team are building something very cool at Fogbender. They’re trying to tackle the customer support communication pipeline in a way that solves for a number of pain points that services like Intercom don’t help with. We were early

This is great. How do you handle updates? How are menus and links handled? Do you allow exporting of code if users wanted to migrate away or self-host? Thanks and congrats, this is a slick implementation.
