To my way of thinking, the idea that you would remove the toolbar in graphical mode defeats the purpose. Emacs keybindings are complicated enough that I'd rather keep the ability to click a button available at all times even if I don&#

This isn't the first time Adobe has taken a decent app w/ potential and run it into the ground: Dreamweaver did many things, not all of them well, but it was never actively terrible. Over time, its functionality got split out into

Unsaid in all of this is that Emacs isn't my main text editor - that is the job of BBEdit where the GUI is both expected and rather good - instead, it is the "editor of last resort" (Vim is inscrutable to me). The emacs GUI i

Counterpoint: If you want a terminal w/o the bloat of a full GUI, but still most of the advantages, `xterm-mouse-mode` will get you 80% of the way there: (require 'mouse) (xterm-mouse-mode t) (mouse-wheel-mode t)

Ah, now I see... The thing that really made dotfiles click for me was the switch to zsh in macOS + Armin Briegel's (of Scripting OS X) book, which laid out exactly how the transition was going to work. I'd done some basic things i

As it was explained to me, the worry was less about actual exploits and more to do with supporting various HTML features in the respective clients (Think Caniuse, but specifically for email). Back when I was doing some work in this area, th

Can confirm - While I was decent at math up to a point, fractions and long division in 4th Grade sent me down a hole that took me years to get out of...until Algebra II as a junior in HS crushed me. I blame this on my Chemistry teacher - a

In addition, so far I know, the @page "locations" (e.g, @top-center, etc.) are not well supported yet in all browsers which means the flexbox fallback is probably as close as we're going to get. https://www.quackit

I solved the issue by installing manually, but even that is a pain with TeX Live - some of the directory tree needed to be created before BasicTex was aware of the packages I was using.

Flexbox support has been [included][1] since 2018, although my use case was the prototypical one - a single row w/ 3 columns - so YMMV with how it handles more complex layouts. [1]: https://github.com/Kozea/WeasyPr

Once I had the chance to move away from Word, TeX was the first place I went. That said, I eventually tired of the obtuse error messages and felt I was making things more complicated for no real gain. Even keeping a BasicTex environment wor

One other distinction I would make between this and the email centric workflow that (almost) every mailing list that I know of these days has is the inclusion of a publicly accessible URL with an index of messages.
