This is exciting, the best part in my opinion would be the downsampling function: > SELECT lttb_downsample(time, value, num_buckets=>500) FROM data; I cannot tell you how many times I've reimplemented downsampling for time-series

Cool! You should record a demo video and post it here so we can see it in action.

By the way I'd love to chat about what kind of data collection you're doing on Cygnus-X1. I've been building a platform for data collection, visualization, and sharing from experimental hardware ( https://www.teleme

Nice little program! Pretty fun playing around with the PID gains and other settings. Saw you have an option to add torque noise. I tried adding some accelerometer noise (Just added some randomness to the input angle to doPID) and got some

This is really exciting, congrats on the launch! Exciting to see engineers coming from college engineering teams like FSAE -- I was a member of a solar boat racing team, which is a very similar problem space and also relies on "stackin

Hi HN! I often listen to an artist's entire discography in order when coding. Spotify displays singles and albums separately, and often jumps to an artist's radio instead of playing through in order. I got annoyed, and built a tin

Good point -- The way I described it really applies to _any_ object floating in water. I don't have much experience with ship design, but on small boat design you can rely mostly on the geometry of the boat to produce a sufficient rig

For many shapes, there are multiple points of stability! If you drew a cross, you'd find that it could stabilize on any two corners. Stability of a floating object is determined by a "righting arm": A torque produced by the h

But that's not why the FAA is regulating it, and these regulations won't stop that. They're regulating because people are flying recklessly above 400ft, above roadways, and in restricted airspace.

The need for regulation and education around proper usage of consumer drones is definitely clear, as shown by your (and many other people's) experience! Most enthusiasts would agree that a solution is needed. Most drone incidents have

No matter what, there will be consequences for DIY/hobby aircraft, just because cost/weight/complexity are critical factors in a small drone. Most of the planes I fly now are wood/cardboard with a few dumb electrical com
