I use kind of like my own personal Stack Overflow. I tag stuff with several (hopefully memorable) tags, and when I can't remember how to (whatever), I search and usually find an article which I thought was helpful enough at the time.

Absolutely. I did something slightly simpler: a single file with a per-day section. This helped immensely with quarterly reviews (I'd forget a lot of things I'd accomplished), and REALLY helped when I hit an obscure bug (typical

From the File menu, choose "Publish to the web", and then choose ".csv" format. This gives you a URL that (up until recently) you could pull with either "curl" (etc.) or from a web page (e.g., an SPA). Now th

I have a personal website backed by a Google sheets page; however, it started not handing out proper CORS headers on the request, so it no longer works for me. Have you run across this? How did you solve it? Thanks!

Had a friend who worked for the US government, in one of their farmer support areas. Told me that it's not unusual for them to be used to keep crops from freezing , oddly enough.

Even if we can't remove one, preventing adding another seems like a good idea.

Try (if you can find it!) Stoneyfield plain yogurt, not their Greek-style. It tastes great, and I have a 100% success rate with that as a starter. Good luck!

Came here to mention the Instant Pot. My only difference is to put the cooled milk into pint jars, then add a teaspoonful of the previous batch of yogurt to each one. I'll have to try the 60-hour thing... sounds interesting!

I use my Instant Pot in pretty much exactly this way, but have never had lumpy yogurt, so maybe something else?

Turo [1] is copying the AirBnB business model... rent out your car to strangers. (Well, I'm not going to, but I don't do AirBnB either). [1] https://turo.com

Really interesting addition to Workflowy, with a very nice demo video. All the people using or implementing various Zettelkasten-ish sites should check it out.

Cool, thanks for the info! I wonder about the underlying instance's OS, though... in the past, for home servers, I've set up cron jobs to get OS updates and reboot, but that seems wrong for a web server I'd like to be always

I'd be interested to know how people who use this kind of thing (or Dokku, etc.) keep their OS, database, applications, etc. up to date, for security reasons if nothing else.

Yup! I may give their drivers another try... this is a different computer, with a later OS. Alas, they no longer support it. Ah well...

I have... somewhere... a stainless steel knob, designed to control the volume, that was wonderful to feel and turn. Alas, the driver was incredibly flaky, and just wouldn't work consistently. I ought to dig it up and see if I can rev

Well, maybe on other browsers... on Safari, on a wide screen, I still had to maximize the window to see all the text. At a "mere" 1200px wide, half the text was under the knob.

A quick read, describing the roughly 10,000 workers who built train engines at the Baldwin Locomotive Works, which was spread over twelve city blocks in Philadelphia. They put out seven engines a day (!), and for modern development, it wou
