Unfortunately if it was from a compromised extension this is going to be more justification for creating closed environments like what Google is doing with android and Apple has already done with iPhone.

I think the big problem is on most "dumb-ish" phones the SMS app can't access critical information of the phone like location. So let's say I wanted to just text an uber to pick me up and drop me off, I now need to go in

Also to drive this point home I've had claude suggest no password sudo before, some people are going to blindly accept that on a computer that also has access to accounts. Making that computer very vulnerable.

I am an engineer and just the other day forgot to set a disk quota on a container I gave an agent and it almost reached disk space running a simulation that was logging to a DB overnight. If that would have happened I probably would have lo

I prefer GitHub Copilot Agent Session for this flow since it's in its own container/VM naturally and you can spawn from the Github Mobile app, except it is a bummer how much of your actions minutes that and CI/CD will consume

GitHub is centralizing all those features. If GitHub was just for repo hosting, then you would need to link your repo to another platform to do CI, another platform for issue tracking relative to the code, etc.

Collaboration, issue tracking, Actions (CI/CD), Codespaces, Security, AI, Identity, social, hosting. Those are like broad categories I can think of off top of my head too you could fit probably 10-15 "features" into each of t

Ehhh, the question comes down to can you cool a chip with ~100 TFLOPs in the size of an Iphone package. Not really as much about the cost of the chip itself or if you can cram it in. Packing in more transistors, sure probably possible, pack

I would argue GitHub does a lot more centralization than just those two. It's an entire developer platform centered around Git. It does hundreds of other things that some developers use, and some don't.

Yeah have to agree here, Github Copilot itself doesn't have any first party models they use the frontiers. So, they didn't "train" using public repos but they probably allowed (or didn't prevent) the frontiers from

I don't think the limit is just on tiny devices. It can also be used in apps on generic computers, because its so small anything can run it reasonably quick. For example, I am thinking this could be helpful for say if you have a compli

Surprised by the consistency. Thought we were surely going to see some sort of drift in one direction and then back, such as people commuting into a hexagon for work and back.

Easiest way to do it would be enable ssh in container and then use VSCode ssh extension. Your host VSCode “becomes” your container VSCode. I run it natively on my rocky8 container with UI sometimes but usually just do ssh

gh is insanely powerful, especially if you let your coding agent use it. It’s one of my top tools. Gh lets you use GitHub features such as issues, pull request, reading CI pipelines, creating CI pipelines, etc. git is just for code version
