The 'site:' operator already works in DDG how you describe. DDG is mostly Bing under the covers for organic results, so most of Bing's advanced [0] searches will work in DDG. Edit: Interestingly enough I can't get the &#

Good eye, thank you. It is fixed. Every "Deep Search" is manually tuned and added as a search within the search, and each one is slightly different depending on the type of information that data source returns.

I agree, this is a fairly clear cut example. But what do you do in situations that are closer to split on people agreeing what the right answer is, or there are 10 answers that could be relevant to the same percentages of people. A query le

How are you deciding whether a source is right or left leaning? Is the rating a manual process based on some set of factors, or are you using an external rating source? IMO, Media Bias Fact Check [0] is on of the better external rating sour

I noticed the other travel related aggregation APIs on your site. Have you ever thought about making a shopping aggregator API? Surprisingly there are not many of them.

Maybe a good strategy could be to just announce your closure on the company's launch date to generate awareness. But joking aside, people's bandwidth for new websites is so limited, especially for something like Search, which the

In your experience, what was the biggest challenge to be on par with Google? From using Cliqz, I felt that the relevance of search results was fairly good. The challenge I had in many cases was that the coverage was so much less for non-com

I spent a good amount of time using Cliqz. For creating their own search index, it was pretty good. But it was nowhere near as good as Google or Bing, and to the average end-user that's all that matters. Most people don't reall

Privacy certainly seems like it is the main reason people would switch. Also second time someone mentioned not requiring all search terms to be present. Quotes around each term definitely helps, but Google doesn't always respect that.

Privacy is a big motivation, but to your point, not for most people. The core benefit is it attempts to pull in the best results from different vertical search source based on search query intent. Real world example, I play the guitar and s
