You won't get traction without knowing who your target audience is. Incidentally that doesn't come across on the landing page, but even if you sorted that out, you'd still need to contact academics and get them to start using it. Visit a lo

Just had a quick look at your site code. It's actually nicely done, and shouldn't be too difficult to get a CSS guy in to start to knock it into shape. I think the basic layout is there, but you need more of a lightness of touch, that you w

Is there anything like an art based product design class? It's what I did and found it great because it totally avoided all maths - the idea was that you came up with the ideas, you built the prototypes, solving engineering problems by doin

OK. I think we all struggle with procrastination. I seriously doubt you are alone in your level of procrastination. If you ever get a chance to flick through "The Procrastination Equation" you'll get why we, as humans, are programmed to pr

I totally agree that actions speak louder than words, and a app or site with traction certainly demonstrates that an idea works, but the point you missed is the money point. If you have money coming in, why do you need to raise more money?

You don't say where you are from. I know people who didn't choose shopify because of language/translation issues. They ended up choosing prestashop. Like you they were not programmers.

I can answer the point from a different perspective. You are right in what you say, except in the UK for example you won't raise any money at all without a business plan. It answers questions like "what are you going to spend our money on?"

What about inviting other people to contribute to creating courses? They will hopefully promo the course for you in exchange for a cut I guess... that should start to bring in more traffic the more people you involve.

Recruiters know nothing about anything, but I wouldn't dismiss this just because the person was trying too hard to make it attractive. At the end of the day, the client is the person that can properly tell you what it's about and I haven't

I thought the point of pre-fixing with "Ask HN:" or "Show HN:" or "Tell HN:" or any other such tags was to make sure that it appeared in the "Ask" section, and ranked separately?
