I agree with you in that consciousness does really see ill defined. But I don't think that would stop a computer program from achieving consciousness. Even with consciousness being so ill defined I'd say that there are a few points that we

How intelligent is the spam filter? I'm getting some spam from websites (like myspace) that I actually would want to get certain types of emails from, so I can't totally block them. Would gmail's filter be effective with these types of emai

I actually use several email addresses. Hotmail is what I mainly use. I have a yahoo address that I got for playing chess online, but I never check it. I also have gmail, but that one is rarely used, mainly because I don't get a lot of emai

Yeah I'm certain that you can, but I'm not sure how well it would convert though. I've read that pdf's won't convert well if there is a lot of graphics in the file. And I would expect that some of the text would be treated as graphics since

I wonder if this means you could get LaTeX documents to be readable on the Kindle. I have a few free math books that are in LaTeX, so this would be useful to me.

Yeah, I agree with you. I don't really see much personal benefit in using brick and mortar video rental stores. Going to one means that I have to take a half hour or an hour out of my day to get a movie. And I can't check the inventory of a

I'm not sure that amazon has much to worry about from this. I don't think a tablet will end up competing directly with other ereaders. I'm thinking about getting an some kind of ereader this summer. While color might be nice, and I'm sure a
