San Mateo and Redwood City are both expensive, but not as bad as SF. One article reported median rents were about 2.4k, which makes sense. There a few places advertising lower rents, but not many, and at that price you are giving stuff up.

Facebook does have a moral responsibility for what they spread though. FB encourages clickbait and puts people in their own walled garden based on what they want to see.

Comma ai's OpenPilot makes freeway driving really nice. I've gone miles without touching pedals or the wheel, it's definitely better than stock. Though I haven't tried AP on Tesla, and OpenPilot is basically just a reall

I am more comfortable with a company talking about how agile they are if the teams are able change processes when and how they want to.

But using agile does change how developers communicate progress to management. So agile processes can definitely indirectly impact how your productivity is perceived and measured.

I had also thought that they had set up some leases through their own legal structures so they could limit some of WeWork's financial liability from the lease.

Aren't there major privacy concerns? It's so easy for an advertiser to get personal data from ad recipients that I'd expect private info could be inferred by the office just giving out patient's email addresses.

TeamCity actually lets you set job configurations with kotlin in source control. The config is actually a kotlin dsl, so not only can you import settings, you can also have TeamCity generate projects, jobs, and settings from your code.

The Taycan looks really cool, but it starts at 150k. And Tesla has autopilot. Tesla Model S is a fast car, but's also marketed to buyers who probably would not want to pay 150k+ for a Porsche.

I think Amazon's standard offer includes a large signing bonus over two years to compensate for the abnormal vesting schedule.

I'm not sure that WeWork has a strong business model. WeWork is absorbing the financial liability of signing long-term leases, and not passing that risk onto their customers. So financial discipline is critical to their business plan.

The Cultural Revolution was highly anti intellectual. Academics and artists were imprisoned, or even killed. In 1956 Mao did start the Hundred Flowers Campaign, which encouraged criticizing the government. But that was followed in 1957 by a

I'd say a major quality problem in cheap watches is water resistance. Before I knew much about diving, I tried snorkeling with a couple really cheap watches. They both died. There are some good cheap dive watches, like the Casio MDV106

I've heard Tesla advertising themselves as a simpler car, by comparing the number of moving parts between a Tesla and an ICE car. That should've made part shortages less likely.

That was worded a little badly. The size of the company, and the size of the tax return should impact the chance of an audit. Intentionally lying on your tax return and saving 5% is a lot different with 100 million than with 10,000. The IRS

I think that a lack of regulation can make markets less free. Natural monopolies exist, and Peter Thiel talks about how startups need to create a monopoly. Consumer choice in broadband providers is a great example of this.
