What do you think about ocean thermal energy conversion plants [1]. It seems to be a promissing technology that both produces energy during whole day, and captures carbon by increasing the biomass of the ocean. [1] https://en.m.w

Yes i was talking about the spam folder, i have never heard about this other way of blocking, and can't find anything about it on the internet. Is this behaviour documented anywhere?

User has control over what is marked as spam, and can see spam messages if needed. If you block some content the way gmail blocks spam, it won't be censorship.

Why would it be violent? Change.org is already able to influence politicians, if it was updated to have the required features, more politicians would have to follow it, and new politicians who believe in direct democracy would be able to ge

What voteflux proposes is not simply direct democracy where opinion of the people who don't care enough to not go to ballot box is simply discarded. Votes still can be delegated, by setting your vote to follow vote of the person you tr

Ocean thermal energy conversion plants [1] is another possible technology that could give us fine grained control over the weather. These types of technologies are more promising than technologies which only have a goal to fix climate chang

If we could convert Sahara back into a savannah or farms, the amount of carbon required for the new soil and plants would exceed the amount of extra carbon we have added to the atmosphere so far. And there are many viable routes to do that.

You can't eat the plants that are eaten by the animals. Not all pastures can be converted to fields, and converting the rest will actually reduce biodiversity and cause more sustainability issues.

Being able to sell and buy votes is a good thing, it allows people to compromise. Now it doesn't work because a vote is a rare resource which cannot be priced, but when there are frequent votes on individual issues, you can think of a

No one should have a secret ballot. A vote is a dry run for a civil war, and if one can't even publicly say that he supports a law how will he be able to help to enact that law when it is passed? There is a curious historical fact, tha
