You pretty much only see people coding Ruby while using the Rails framework which governs the whole thing. You can replace Ruby here with Python, Django or Groovy and it is still correct. This is certainly not the case with Python. Python

I got this idea by wanting to create an iPhone game, but I don't have thousands of dollars on to spend on a graphic designer nor the creative skills to draw characters. The marketplace would make it easier for people to create games.

I currently use Gearman in my app (and supervisord), but I also looked into RabbitMQ. It was this comment on SO that made me go with Gearman. I would say that Gearman is better for queuing "jobs" and RabbitMQ is better for queuing "data".
