The same can very well happen in the real world. I see an artwork online, upload it to my portfolio and claim it's mine. There are then many ways one can prove they are the original author and minting an NFT is just an easier one (assu

No, it's exactly the same as the "native" app (API differences aside, as I mentioned). Have you tried GitHub Codespaces?

VSCode literally runs in the browser with identical performance to the Electron app (because aside from some differences in APIs, the runtime is pretty much the same). Try GitHub Codespaces and you'll see.

How long before someone exploits this? - Build an app that injects malware but also shows the restaurant's menu. Give it the same name as the restaurant. - Go to the restaurant, overlay your QR code sticker on top of the restaurant

My claim is that it's ridiculous to send $0.01 monthly invoices for an inactive account, not sure what you mean by "validate", maybe it isn't that funny of a story? :) But it doesn't make sense for me to spend even

I'm not interested in recovering that account anyway, I'd spend more money (in terms of time spent dealing with them) on trying to get it back than what I'd owe in a few decades.

Funny story: I keep receiving a $0.01 monthly invoice from AWS for a very old account (opened 5+ years ago) I have lost access to. I have no idea why (the invoice doesn't list the services being used) and the associated credit card has

Hey great post! Thanks for sharing so many details. Just one question: how do you approach profiling in production? Specifically in those cases where copying whatever slice of data from the prod DB would be too much to handle.

You can use whatever ORM or templating library you want. But at least if one day you realize you need something that Django offers out of the box it's there for you to use. And if not it's not like it has any perceivable effect

There are connectors for noSQL databases as well. Or it's surely easier to implement one than to reimplement everything else around the ORM.

Honestly, I don't see the point of using Flask anymore. You can set up a Django project and just use a single module with a bunch of view functions, built-in testing and sensible defaults. Done. Not choosing that approach just because

Not sure about the first point, after all with digital art what matters is the NFT since anyone can copy the artifact 1:1 at virtually no cost and no risk. I agree with many that NFTs are best suited for digital worlds but that begs the q

Isn't this the same argument people were making about those huge mainframes 50 or so years ago? If there's one thing we can all agree on is that we don't really know the implications of a new technology in the long run.
