In reality these are priorities to an increasingly vocal tiny minority in both categories, it is as they say "terminally online" In reality people care more about the prosperity of their local area, access to hospitals, etc

I grew up in a clean household, no shoes indoors, fastidious mother wiping down every surface, also allergy free. So are all of my siblings though, so there might be more of a genetic component to this.

It wouldn't be hacker news if I didn't casually scroll through a medical thread and see the worst take worded in a horribly tactless way. Just curious, would you feel comfortable if someone gleefully told you that from now on peop

That doesn't really show that it was a common complaint given it accrued zero Reddit agreement points. The situation now is also much worse than it was, because answers could be two years out of date then and beyond a decade out of dat

A better form of moderation exists in the form of whatever they were doing before, when you could ask a question and get an answer. At one point SE was my most used resource. As of now I haven't used SE at all for I think four years.

I have never worked in an agile setup in which engineers pick tasks, we're given a queue and we take them in priority order with no room for choice. How common is that really?

The study I linked has 2200 detransitioners, an order of magnitude above the ~240 or the 100 you've referenced. What the studies kind of suggest more is that if you pull your sample from somewhere like a detransition website you'r

Please try harder not to succumb to the strawman fallacy, you're arguing a point I didn't make. The base truth is that the Cass review excluded a large portion of the research based on evidenciary standards which are higher than w

There is a gulf between the quality of the sources we're looking at here and I want to highlight it so it's not hidden behind links. My supplied source in the GP comment is an n=27,715 cross sectional survey supplied to any adult

Nextdoor is an app (maybe a website too? not sure) which acts in my area sort of like a twitter feed for the people living in the houses nearby. It's not that useful unless you're in a built up area because I'd say the likeli

Christ, it really spells out how dystopian it really is. Could you imagine if Jackie on nextdoor got to hit you with the legal stick every time she didn't like your front garden?

I can corroborate this, with an oddly well timed recent event. In school I had a large friend group, none of us were diagnosed (publicly) with anything. We spent a few years together and then all scattered across the country and did not par

I've never put any stock in this point, your writings cannot be made distinct from you. How many messages do you need before you can accrue enough personally identifying information to reveal who that person was? Every time they mentio
